FFL Dealer Name: GLR Enterprises
Location: Charlotte Hall, MD 20622
FFL Number: 8-52-037-01-5L-02190
We will contact you as soon as your firearm arrives at our shop and has been processed into our system. Please do not come to the shop until you have heard from us, as it may not be ready for pickup.
When you come to pick up your firearm, you will need to complete the necessary paperwork (ATF Form 4473 and the Maryland 77R application for regulated firearms) and pass the background check. Please bring the following with you:
-A valid Maryland Driver’s License or government-issued photo ID with your current address.
-For Regulated Firearms (handguns and certain rifles), you must also have your Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL).
Once the background check is approved and any applicable waiting period is complete, the firearm is yours to take home.
In Maryland, the private sale of a regulated firearm (any handgun) must be conducted through a licensed FFL dealer or at a Maryland State Police barracks. We are happy to facilitate these person-to-person transfers at our shop.
Both the buyer and the seller must be present at our shop to begin the transaction. The buyer will undergo the same background check process as any other transfer.
What is a Handgun Qualification License (HQL)?
An HQL is required in Maryland to purchase, rent, or receive a handgun. You must complete a certified training course to obtain one. There are some exemptions for active and retired military, law enforcement, and others.
How long is the waiting period in Maryland?
For regulated firearms, there is a 7-day waiting period after the 77R application is submitted before the firearm can be released.
What if my background check is delayed or denied?
If your background check is delayed, we must wait for an approval before proceeding. If it is denied, we unfortunately cannot transfer the firearm to you. In this case, you are responsible for arranging the return of the firearm to the original seller, including any shipping costs and restocking fees. Our transfer fee is non-refundable as it covers the administrative work already performed.
How long will you hold my firearm?
We ask that you pick up your firearm within 30 days of being notified of its arrival. Firearms left beyond 30 days without prior arrangement may be subject to a storage fee of $[Your Storage Fee] per month. Firearms left beyond 90 days will be considered abandoned and will be sold.
